Simply said, it is the idea that goods and services should be produced in ways that do not use resources that cannot be replaced and that do not damage the enviroment.
But let's be honest, everybody leaves a CO2 footprint, even if we wish it wouldn't be so. However, we do not turn a blind eye to it! We at Masterpiece Antiques see it as our duty and have actively started to reduce our CO2 emissions as best as we can.
For this reason we started a cooperation with GROW MY TREE. But what does that mean for you and how does it work?
As a customer of Masterpiece Antiques you are automatically becoming a part of this forward-looking, and in our opinion so important movement, to help neutralizing CO2 emissions. Depending on the amount of your order, we are going to plant a certain number of trees. These natural miracles absorb CO2 from the air and use it as an energy supplier for woods, roots, leaves or needles.
So you would not only earn a beautiful, sustainable piece of antique furniture, much more you play an important role in helping our environment to recover.
“Reduce, reuse, recycle” is what children are learning in school nowadays, and it is not just a phrase, much more it has become a very important motto to rethink our dealing with the environment.
For example, no tree has to be felled for a cabinet from 1830 today. In contrast to “new” furniture – also often called “throwaway furniture” – the quality of antique furniture had a completely different claim because it was made to last for centuries.
For the restoration of our masterpieces we exclusively use old wood/ veneer from the past and natural, high quality materials like shellac or bone glue.
